The best and only reason for meditation is because it’s good for you. Period. We make time to do a lot of things that are clearly good for us and take up actual valuable time. We brush our teeth—10 minutes. We make time to eat a healthy meal (OK most of the time)—20 minutes. We tend to a loved one—30 minutes. We benefit from 15 minutes to an hour or more for fitness. The list goes on. So when I hear someone say that they just can’t seem to find the time, it makes me sad and frustrated. All of us absolutely do have the time for a practice that can only help you to live a more awake, mindful and enriched life. And the great news is: like yoga, there is no such thing as doing it “wrong.” It’s always only right.
