Yes the days are getting shorter, but it’s bright and shiny on the mat with. On this 60-minute practice, we’ll flow with some intensity and then transition to the floor for some restorative yin postures. I recommend checking this out for anyone who is curious about either of those practice styles.

Prop up your yoga
In this video, I’ll show you the value of props and the best ways to use them to support your practice. From blocks to blankets, straps to bolsters, props are super helpful to both beginner yogis but also (maybe especially) for those experienced practitioners. Props are a fairly recent addition to my practice. I feltContinue reading “Prop up your yoga”
One hour repower
I made this practice like most. Spontaneously with an earnest desire to help folks reignite their low voltage batteries. Life has been particularly interesting this last year-plus. But it’s become even more so with the past month of newsfeeds which indicate immense shift globally. Themed “resilience” I am grateful that you can take this hourContinue reading “One hour repower”
Why meditation
The best and only reason for meditation is because it’s good for you. Period. We make time to do a lot of things that are clearly good for us and take up actual valuable time. We brush our teeth—10 minutes. We make time to eat a healthy meal (OK most of the time)—20 minutes. WeContinue reading “Why meditation”
no mat no worries
I’m gonna keep this really brief. Should you happen to be out and about somewhere in nature perhaps or along the coast or on a gorgeous hike along a ridge line and you stop and you realize what a profoundly gorgeous moment it is. Why on earth (get it!?) wouldn’t you just immediately then giveContinue reading “no mat no worries”
You need some yin today
This half-hour practice includes three core yin postures in a relaxing sequence to help rinse off the pressures of the day. The three postures are supported child’s pose, supported frog pose, and supported deer pose. Props: • Yoga mat • Yoga blanket (at least one) • Large bolster • Two blocks
Makin’ your moves
It may be interesting to note that when we create we are actually moving in really big ways. Whether writing, engineering, solving problems, building roads-all involve breath moving or body moving. It occurred to me in a tangible way when I started to work with the sticks again recently. There was a great deal of armContinue reading “Makin’ your moves”
15 minutes to “oh yea” highway
And just when you thought you had NO TIME for yourself, guess what? Ya do, and that is excellent news for the classic over-scheduled among us. You are so worth it, ask everyone around you when you finish this segment. You can do amazing things in just 15 minutes. Here’s how.
Always time for practice
Almost always when I’m traipsing out in nature, I’ll find a place that calls me to throw a quick practice. And usually that’s just what I’ll do. Sometimes I’ll make a video of those practices. This has a couple of benefits. One, it’s very useful to view one’s actual alignments. Two, is the idea ofContinue reading “Always time for practice”
TeePee
Last summer I had the vastly cool opportunity to stay at a quite groovy hippie hip teepee resort in Marcola Oregon. It was enchanting nestled in the fragrant breathiness of the wisened pines, musiced by the tunes of the brook, nourished by gastronomically gifted hosts. It was of great interest to me to discover thatContinue reading “TeePee”
